W. Patrick Naylor

Dr. Naylor is the Associate Dean for Advanced Dental Education and professor of restorative dentistry at the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. After obtaining his dental degree from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry, he received a certificate in prosthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Master of Science degree in dental materials from Indiana University.


He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, The International Association for Dental Research/American Association for Dental Research, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and the John F. Johnston Society.


Dr. Naylor has published numerous abstracts and articles and written or revised chapters in textbooks including, Skinner's Science of Dental Materials (Phillips, 9th edition) and authored his own textbook, Introduction to Metal-Ceramic Technology, 2nd edition, 2009 (Quintessence Publishing Co.). He presently serves as a reviewer for The Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice, and has served in this same capacity for several prosthodontic journals.
